Stakeholder roadmap
- A stakeholder roadmaps provides an overview of the main components of the project, it will include objectives, deliverables, milestones, resources, and timelines, and is used to show these to stakeholders as well as keeping stakeholders in the know of operations.
- unlike a project plan, it does not include day to day tasks or a detailed view of roles, only a quick overview to catch stakeholder interest
Project timelines
- timelines show what phases of the project are complete, current, and to do
- they are used to keep track of different project tasks
- they include:
- start and end date of tasks
- the task duration
- who is assigned the task
- task dependencies (if it relies on another task being complete)
- they are important as they:
- a central area to display all tasks and project management phases
- provide a simple representation of the project to make it easier to understand
- allow team members to focus on important tasks
- help promote improved time and resource management
Linking projects objectives to strategic objectives
- Prioritisation: we needed to finish the recording before the editing, as well as prioritising it over website creation while we still had access to a 360 camera , showing the college our project management skills and communication, a key skill
- Project management methodologies: this is good as we learn project methodologies as part of our course
- leadership team: leadership is one of the 3 key skills of the college
- completion of the work: we had to complete the work by Jan 25th, this helped us show the college our dedication and resilience among other skills, resilience being another key skill
Resource requirements/Plan
it is used to help anticipate all the resources required to do a project and can be used to reduce expenses by knowing exactly what is needed
- if I knew that visual studio could be installed on the machines, i feel my code, would have started out better and faster
- if we had used a shared coding workspace, it would have reduced the need for me to reupload my code so many times, increasing productivity
